OBAMA SIGNS BILL EXPANDING HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM TO IMMIGRANT KIDS
This is the first immigration bill the new president has signed. The bill will expand the State Children's Health Insurance Program. The bill will allow states to provide insurance to the children of legal immgrants who have been in the US for less than five years. It also loosens identification requirements for those enrolling, something immigration opponents argue would open the program to people illegally in the country.
