PRESIDENT BUSH SIGNS CONRAD EXTENSION LAW
The Conrad 30 J-1 program for foreign physicians was extended officially today until March 6, 2008. The new law also allows states to sponsor up to 10 physicians for flex slots per year, up from the previous 5.

NY TIMES REPORTS ON USE OF J-1 WAIVER PROGRAM IN THE EMPIRE STATE
NYT: Half of the doctors are going to inner city New York City hospitals. The other half are going to rural areas in the state. New York's program is, not surprising, one of the nation's most popular for doctors.
